Skiing, tobogganing, ice climbing, ski mountaineering, winter hiking and a lot more: Here you can enjoy winter sports activities for all tastes and fitness levels.

Enjoy the peace of nature, the fresh and cold winter air and walking – downhill if you want to. Relaxing winter hikes or snowshoeing tours on the trails around the Grünwalderhof or onto the Patscherkofel. Enjoy a warm soup afterwards.

Bob – Tobogganing - Skeleton – "Guest Bob"

On the Olympic bob, luge and skeleton run 1.6km from the Grünwalderhof guests and athletes can experience the fascination of the ice channel. For guests experienced pilots are available, who steer a bob with three persons safely to the finishing area. Athlete can use the run for training purposes. Different championships, e.g. European Cup and World Cup, take place here.

Ice Skating

An ice skating rink is just behind the base station of the Patscherkofelbahn lift, next to the exercise lift. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ice skates can be rented on site!

Freeriding, Ski Mountaineering, Ice Climbing and Snowshoeing

Skiing and snow experiences with a difference are offered by the Freeridecenter Stubai: guided glacier ski mountaineering tours, avalanche training, tour planning, risk managment, ice climbing and snowshoeing – for beginners and pros. With guides, who know the area well, you can find the best powder snow and experience a completely different side of the Stubai Glacier. More information on the ski school and the mountain guide are available at the Hotel Grünwalderhof. Tobogganing

Depending on snow conditions, a natural toboggan run with a length of almost 3km leads from the Alpengasthaus Heiligwasser (1,250m) to the Grünwalderhof. Walking time from the Grünwalderhof is approx. 45 minutes – altitude difference: 200m. During the day you can also take the lift to the Heiligwasser mid-station. Ski & Snowboard

The Olympic Patscherkofel mountain, 2,250m is at our doorstep – the base station of the 4-seater Olympiaexpress chair-lift is only 800m from the Grünwalderhof. Follow the footsteps of stars such as Franz Klammer. There are pistes for all skiers, from beginners to pros. There is a training centre for groups and ski races. Thanks to the new large snow-making facility, snow is guaranteed and an early start and a late end of the season is possible.

Olympia Skiworld Innsbruck

9 ski areas and 1 ski pass: Stubai Glacier, Schlick 2000, Patscherkofel, Seegrube-Nordkette, Axamer Lizum, Glungezer, Muttereralm, Rangger Köpfl and Kühtai. You can explore the ski areas of the Olympic region of Innsbruck with one ski pass: 90 lifts bring you up to an altitude of 3,200m. The free ski bus of the Innsbruck tourist board brings our guests from the Grünwalderhof to the Stubai Glacier an to the Schlick 2000 twice a week – on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Tennis

Between Igls and Patsch are 3 indoor and 9 outdoor sand courts, which are floodlit in the evenings. The centre is run by the Parkclub Igls. It takes only five minutes to get there from the Grünwalderhof.

Enjoy the fantastic landscape around the Grünwalderhof on a leisurely walk or on the many winter hiking trails.
